Bipolar Depression (Manic Depression)
Manic depression goes up and down. The individual struggling with bipolar depression has periods of clinical depression with periods of normal mood and energy between.
Seasonal Depression (SAD)
Season depression occurs when hormones trigger attitude-related changes at certain times of the year. Most commonly occurs during the winter months.
Psychotic depression is a severe depressive illness that is combined with some form of psychosis.
